Jujube seed extract is an extract of the seeds of deciduous shrub or small tree jujube, 1-3m high, with straight and curved thorns on branches. The leaves are alternate, oblong to convoluted-lanceolate, 2-3.5cm long, 6-12mm wide, obtuse at the apex, finely serrated at the edge, and three-veined at the base. Flowers yellow-green, often 2-3 clusters in leaf axils; calyx signs, petals and stamens are all 5 out; ovary superior, 2-celled, buried in the flower tray, stigma 2-lobed. The drupes are small, oblong or nearly round, dark red, sour in taste, often blunt at both ends of the stone. The flowering period is April to May, and the fruiting period is September. Born in sunny or dry hillsides, plains, roadsides.
